We were united by the search for perfect powder and authentic Japanese culture.

Hey there. It’s Brian from the United States, Rob from the United Kingdom and Andre from Canada. We started Hidden Hokkaido in the 2019/2020 winter season while traveling around the island of Hokkaido in a Toyota TANK and a radical Camper Van.

Our dream was to discover the perfect backcountry zones for snowboarding and skiing. By searching for new powder fields we made local friends, enjoyed unforgettable culinary experiences and soaked in surreal natural onsens along the way.

During our adventure we searched online for guides to find must-visit onsens, restaurants and shops. We were overwhelmed and confused by the lack of clear recommendations. As a team we decided that it was time to share our favorite destinations in Hokkaido with other passionate adventurers like you.
